Creative Habit | Finding Metaphor

Creative Habit | Finding Metaphor

Creative Habit | Finding Metaphor
Tuesday Evenings: 6:30 - 9:30 Sept. 16 – Dec. 2
Open Practice Mentor: Denese Sanders

“Metaphor is the life-blood of all art.” Twyla Tharp

Choose from four 3-week sessions or a full 12-week block of dedicated studio practice to support your creative habit. Each session encourages students to consider the expressive function of metaphor, regardless of process. Our primary goal is to work through our ideas on a regular basis and increase our creative productivity. Sanders will initiate dialogue and brief demonstrations to delve into each session’s focus areas. The Open Practice environment allows students to work independently, while gaining insights through a group dynamic. Each evening will begin with inspiration from Author/Choreographer Twyla Tharp.

“In the end, there is no ideal condition for creativity. The only criterion is this: Make it easy on yourself.” “All preferred working states… have one thing in common: When you enter into them, they impel you to get started.”
