Instructor: Tinna Dinesen

Sun, August 13, 10:00 - 4:00

Workshop Fee: $100 non-members/ $95 members

Supplies Fee: $5

The Sami people are the aboriginal people of North of Scandinavia, with a 10,000 year old history. Though there are only about 17,000 Sami people living in Sweden today - many of whom still subsist on Reindeer breeding - they are well-known for their pewter and silver bracelet designs. These bracelets are made of the softest Reindeer leather (or often lamb or recycled leathers), spun pewter wire (nickel free, with 4% silver), and antler buttons - some designs also include silver beads and other decorations. They are fun to create and the combination of materials makes them elegantly earthy. No experience necessary!
