About the Sunrise Challenge:  In September 2013, Molly Nance- creator of the 7-Day Sunrise Challenge asked friends on Facebook to join her for 7 days in waking up at or before sunrise and posting photos to the event page. She needed some help and inspiration to start her day early, and thought a little community support would be just the thing to get her going! The response was overwhelming and breathtaking. With over 200 sunrise images taken from around the world, the first Sunrise Challenge Photography Exhibition was hosted in December of 2013.

In January 2014, Nance hosted another 7-day Sunrise Challenge on Facebook- where even more people participated.  Now, with 300 hundred images, the Second Annual Sunrise Challenge Photography Exhibition will be held at Open Ground Studios to kick off their exhibition season.  The Sunrise Challenge aims to support local non-profits through each exhibition and this event will benefit “Global Majority” on the 13th anniversary of 9-11. With headquarters in Monterey, Global Majority is an international organization committed to the promotion of education and training, networking and advocacy in the field of non-violent conflict resolution. http://www.globalmajority.net
